There are two growing periods in Southern California and in the winter almost all of our salads and leafy greens are grown at the monastery. In the summer months we grow tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant, and cucumbers.
We are hoping that in the future, when we have more monks, we can create and maintain a substantial community garden. The produce would not only feed us but would provide fresh veggies for Our Saviour Center’s food bank.
