Alongsiders are individuals who live in residence with the community in an intentional way as they discern where God may be leading them. They join us in our life of prayer, work, and study in the monastery. Some may join us in ministry outside the monastery in the jails, but it is not a requirement. Our goal is to allow individuals plenty of room for discerning their life while giving them a real taste of life in our community
The Reverend Todd Blackham (pictured at left) is currently in residence with us as our Alongsider. Todd was born and raised in Colorado and spent four years in Boston before moving to Los Angeles in 2007. He has a diverse denominational background and extensive work in youth ministry. He was ordained to the Priesthood in the Episcopal Church in 2015. Todd's interests include Church History, American Religious History, and Contemplative Practices.
