Sister Greta Ronningen Prior
Sister Greta is a founding member of Community of Divine Love. Originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan, she spent much of her youth in New Mexico. She holds a master’s degree in Spiritual Formation from Claremont School of Theology. She is the senior Episcopal chaplain at CRDF, the women’s jail in Lynwood, and is the co-director of Prism Restorative Justice, a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles. Greta is the director of contemplative spirituality at The Church of Our Saviour. A yoga teacher with over 40 years of experience, she co-founded Yoga Works in 1986. Greta is a writer, public speaker, and retreat leader. She is the author of Free on the Inside: Finding God Behind Bars.
Brother Dennis Gibbs
Originally from Nampa, Idaho, Br. Dennis has lived in California since 1981, first in northern California, before settling in the Los Angeles area in 1991. A deacon in the Diocese of Los Angeles, he is the Director for Prism Restorative Justice, a ministry that provides spiritual care for the incarcerated in the Los Angeles County Jails. Br. Dennis is a spiritual director, writer and retreat leader. Artistically inclined, he has restored a number of artifacts that now have made their home throughout the monastery.
Sister Michelle Johnston (MJ)
Sister MJ joined the community in January 2015 and became First Professed in June 2017. She was born and raised in Southern California. She has an associate's degree in Computer Information Systems, a bachelor's degree in Gender and Feminist Studies, and is currently going through Stillpoint's Spiritual Director's program. She currently works with Sr. Greta as a chaplain at CRDF, the women's jail in Lynwood and has recently taken over responsibility for coordinating new volunteers for Prism.
Prior to joining the community, she was actively involved in her home parish, All Saints Church, Pasadena, where she served as co-leader of the LGBTQ ministry and was a counselor in the Lay Counseling Ministry.
